Mendocino is a popular recreation destination and is only 5 mi (8 km) from

County Museum, which is located in Willits. The museum is home to one of the
finest collections of Pomo and Yuki tribal baskets in the world. Willits comes
alive every July during Frontier
Days. This week-long event is known for being California’s
oldest continuous rodeo and includes a carnival, horseshows and gun-fighting demonstrations.
